Nate
My name is Nathaniel Houghton and I am a founder, angel investor, and B2B growth advisor. I connect companies with innovative solutions to generate sustainable demand. My friends call me Nate.
Most of my work has been in early-stage tech, but I have experience across industries with both startups and established businesses. I’ve succeeded with grit, efficiency, and a unique ability to apply first-principles thinking to complex problems. I am known for delivering non-obvious solutions to growth challenges.
My last few years have been spent leading Incendium, a B2B growth studio that I co-founded in 2017. Incendium is an Inc 5000 honoree and has worked with companies backed by Greycroft, Accel, Founders Fund, a16z, and more. I’m still active as part of Incendium’s leadership team following our acquisition in 2024 by Operator Equity.
I am also a co-founder of the Congo Leadership Initiative, an organization that has provided leadership and entrepreneurship training to over 10,000 Congolese youth since 2010. Ask me anything about the Congo!
My angel portfolio includes Tabs, Rezilient Health, Dimmo, Revive, and Swiftlane. I am also an LP in some awesome early-stage funds including Coughdrop Capital & The Council Fund and an Operator in Residence at Gannett Partners.
I’ve learned a lot more from startups than from school, but I do hold an undergraduate degree from Cornell and an MBA from Harvard Business School. I’m an avid runner, 19th & 20th century history enthusiast, and deeply traumatized Buffalo Bills fan.
